Eden’s rivers need our help more than ever before.

Agricultural run-off and sewage pollution are increasing as water demands for food production and housing rise. Our depleted woodlands and wetlands are struggling to cope with intense, more frequent downpours, resulting in further flooding and erosion.

This damage is putting iconic native species like the Atlantic salmon, White-clawed crayfish, and water voles at serious risk. These creatures depend on clean, healthy waterways — and they’re disappearing fast.

With your support, we can restore habitats, reduce pollution, and give wildlife a fighting chance.

Please donate today to help protect Eden’s rivers for future generations.

What is Eden Rivers Trust doing?

We're restoring rivers to full health by:

Improving water quality

We stop harmful nutrients and soil from washing off farmland into rivers by putting in practical measures like fencing, planting hedgerows and trees, creating buffer zones, giving advice on fertiliser use, and providing safe places for animals to drink.

Creating homes for wildlife

We're restoring habitats for water voles, crayfish, fish, insects and plants. That means new wetlands, ponds, woodlands, and natural river features like bends, riffles, and pools.

Building climate resilience

We help the land cope better with floods and droughts by planting trees, improving soil health, protecting riverbanks, making space for water on floodplains, and bringing back wetlands.

Calling for better water management

We push water companies to fix sewage and leaks, encourage public action, campaign for stronger regulation, and celebrate success stories.

Connecting people with rivers

We help people discover the wellbeing benefits of rivers with hands-on activities like hedge planting, river-dipping, wildlife spotting, tackling invasive species, trail testing, or just relaxing by the water.

Eden Rivers Trust is a local, practical charity working hand-in-hand with farmers and communities to care for our rivers and land.

We share what we learn, and we get things done.

That’s why your support matters. Your gift makes our work to enhance and protect Eden’s rivers possible.
