  • Survey river cross sections
Eden Rivers Trust is currently working with Durham University on an exciting project to investigate whether any single land management practice can have positive effects on both high (flood) and low (drought) river flows.  We are currently looking for volunteers to help with this research and assist Ian Pattison, a PhD student from Durham University, in the field survey of river cross sedtions in the Eden catchment.  The data collected will be used by Ian within a computer model for simulating river flows.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the project from Ian and gain experience of surveying cross sections using a levelling technique.  The survey work is planned for throughout April.  If you are interested in volunteering and would like further details please email  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
