Eden Rivers Trust Manager: Maggie Robinson
Maggie joined the Trust in January 2007. She has been part of English Nature’s Cumbria Team for the last 10 years, most recently as Lead Project Officer in the North West for Catchment Sensitive Farming. The Trust has enjoyed a close working relationship with Maggie for many years. Her knowledge of the catchment, experience and leadership will all contribute enormously to the future plans of the Trust.

Conservation Officer: Joanne Backshall
Joanne joined the Trust in April 2007 to oversee the £1 million Heritage Lottery funded Discover Eden project, a 3 year education and access programme. She is now working on a project to protect and enhance populations of the native white-clawed crayfish in the Hoff and Helm Becks. Joanne joined us from English Nature where she worked on a wide variety of projects, including writing the Upland Management Handbook and arranging Wildlife Enhancements Schemes.

Education Officer: Becky Helm
Becky began working for the Trust in September 2005 and delivers the Schools Education Programme for Key Stages 1 – 4, and the occasional 6th form or higher education group. She also assists in the delivery of projects under the Heritage Lottery funded Discover Eden project.

Fisheries Officer: Lizzie Fenton
Lizzie joined the Trust in March 2007 and one of her main roles is running the electro-fishing programme which allows the Trust to monitor the salmonid population in the Eden catchment. This data is then used to target and monitor our habitat restoration projects. She is also involved in other fisheries projects including installation of fish passes to open up areas of previously inaccessible spawning grounds.

Scientific Officer GIS: Lucy Dugdale
Lucy completed a three year PhD project funded by Rural Regeneration Cumbria and managed by the Trust and Professor Stuart Lane of Durham University. Lucy became Targeting Officer for the Trust in December 2006. She is also working on a project to protect and enhance populations of the native white-clawed crayfish in the Rivers Leith and Lyvennet, and leading on our European-funded "ALFA" project.

Habitats Officer: Will Cleasby
Will started at the Trust in April 2004 and organises the habitat restoration works, which include fencing, coppicing and tree planting, which is carried out by local contractors. He works closely with the agricultural community delivering advice on nutrient planning and soil management and is FACTS (Fertiliser Advisors Certification and Training Scheme) qualified.

Administrative Assistant: Kim Byers
Kim joined the Trust in February 2007 to assist with the office administration and the delivery of the Heritage Lottery funded Discover Eden projects.
