River Restoration Manager

Permanent full time position
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 pa dependent on experience

We are offering a rare opportunity for an experienced project manager to lead the implementation and development of an established river restoration programme, in an area of Cumbria renowned for its outstanding rivers.

If you have a track record in delivering river restoration and/or habitat improvement projects, working with consultants and contractors and in partnership with multiple public and private partners we would be interested in hearing from you.

You will be technically strong and adept at managing complex budgets and reporting to donors. You will have confidence and credibility, and be able to engaging and influencing a variety of stakeholders.

Eden Rivers Trust, alongside the Environment Agency and other key partners in Cumbria, has been at the centre of innovative river restoration since 2011. The organisation also runs water friendly farming initiatives, and since the floods of 2013-15 has been working to implement natural solutions to flood management. Opportunities abound for developing river restoration projects with multiple benefits that are central to the sustainable management of the Eden catchment

Based in Penrith, the post holder will work in the scenic rolling countryside of the Eden Valley, with the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines just on the doorstep.
