Welcome to Raise the Roof for Rivers! – Eden Rivers Trust’s Autumn fundraising night out.
Saturday 21 September 2024, 7:30 pm at Lazonby Village Hall
Tickets £20 each plus £1 booking fee.
Enjoy a good night out with us and Cumbria’s finest, Water’s Edge with live music, dancing, a licensed bar, and raffle … and help support our work to save our beloved rivers.
Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference while having a great time!
Here’s the important stuff you need to know:
Doors open at 7pm and a licensed bar is available. There isn’t a car park at the hall so please park considerately in the village.
7.30 pm The evening kicks off with a warm welcome from Elizabeth Radford, CEO Eden Rivers Trust
Followed by River Eden – a original instrumental piece inspired by our river, introduced by Richard Burford.
This is a rare opportunity to hear a recording of River Eden, a suite composed by Richard Burford of Water’s Edge and the late musician/composer, Patrick Brett Young. Originally written in 1992, it depicts the journey down the river from its source above Mallerstang to sea, where it joins the Solway Firth. Only played in public once, this evocative instrumental piece has not been heard in over 20 years … until now.
7.55 pm live music from Water’s Edge
Formed 17 years ago, they are a four-piece band based in Eden and West Cumbria. They’ve released five albums of original material plus a live album and describe their music as MODE – melodic, original, dynamic and eclectic … so there will be something for all tastes!
8.40 pm Intermission and raffle
9.00 pm live music from Water’s Edge
10.30 pm time to drink up and head home!
All proceeds will go to further our charity’s work to improve and protect Eden’s river environments so that people and nature can thrive. The Eden Rivers Trust is a registered charity, number 1123588.
