Trustees of Eden Rivers Trust

Initial three-year term
Voluntary role, out-of-pocket expenses considered

Are you interested in the environment and passionate about the Eden Valley?

Would you be interested in volunteering your skills and time to improve and sustain the River Eden and its catchment?

If so, why not join our dynamic and growing environmental charity as a Trustee on the Board.

Eden Rivers Trust is the conservation charity standing up for Eden’s rivers; changing perceptions of rivers, enhancing and protecting the river environment so that people and nature in Cumbria can thrive.

Our vision is Clean and healthy rivers, providing a brighter future for all, and we have been working with partners and volunteers since 1996, developing and carrying out innovative environmental projects that restore rivers, improve habitats, manage floods naturally and promote water-friendly farming. These conservation activities are integrated with creative programmes for schools and community groups that promote awareness, access and learning.

As a Trust we are Rethinking Rivers. For Good.

We are seeking applications from individuals who would like to become an ordinary Trustee for Eden Rivers Trust, as this position is about to become vacant on our Board.

Naturally, we seek applications from those who have an interest in the conservation of rivers, but we also would like to hear from those who have skills or experience in farming, access, engagement and education.

In 2024 we will be starting significant, long-term projects in Carlisle, Penrith and Kirkby Stephen so would particularly welcome applications from individuals based in these areas.

Our ultimate aim is to develop and broaden the diversity of our Board of Trustees; we are working towards an equal gender balance as well as a variety of perspectives and backgrounds so that our governance is as robust and as representative of our stakeholders as possible.
